Which Links Do Your Readers Click? Have you ever wondered if readers click the links you share in a post? If you post affiliate links chances are good you have a pretty good idea based on how many items you sell but maybe you want to know exactly which links people are clicking on, and thankfully Google Analytics can help answer that question!
Which Links Do Your Readers Click? Google Analytics 101
Start by logging into your Google Analytics Account (duh!). 😛 Don’t have Google Analytics set up yet?

Select All Website Data for the site you want to research and let’s dig in.
Under your Reporting menu, you’re going to select Behavior>Events>Overview.
Next Scroll Down and Click Event Action and click View Full Report
Now you can see all the links your readers are clicking! Remember you can change the time frame. You can also change how many links you can view at one time. To view the actual link, you will have to copy and paste it in your browser.
Bonus Tip: If you used the same link multiple times in one post and wanted to see which way readers responded best click the link in GA and it will take you to a new page that says something like outbound article. Click that, and it will take you to all the text instances where you used that link and show you which performed best.
I can go back to my post and see that I used that text link and the beginning of my post. I know for future reference not to do that because it’s killing my bounce rate and my ad loads.
