Okay, so I’m just going, to be honest and tell you that I had a completely craptastic week.
The funny thing is I think it was just what I needed. You know how sometimes you just have to hit rock bottom before you can see things for what they are?? That’s where I’ve been.
At the same time, it was a forced mini-vacation from blogging (which I didn’t even know I NEEDED). So now that my head is clear, this is what I see:
I am LAZY.
Being a blogger hasn’t helped that one bit. I sit on my rump for 4-6 (more if I’m honest) hours a day and my body is deteriorating. While my time on the Total Gym has been helpful, I had only seen results during week 3, when I worked out consistently and ate healthy. Last week was the exact opposite. I worked out for ONE day, and ate fast food almost EVERY DAY!
I. AM. SERIOUS.
It was horrible. I felt horrible, and I had no motivation to do anything.
So yesterday, I was sitting on the couch flipping through the channels when I see a show (infomercial) titled Wesley Snipes on the Total Gym. I’m like “Okay, I need to watch this, maybe it will motivate me.” What I didn’t expect to see were three real people (cause you all know Wesley Snipes isn’t real) who lost a lot of weight and looked amazing. Don’t worry I’m not going to make this about looks, because after last week, I don’t think it really looks that matter.
It’s how you FEEL. Last week, I was putting bad stuff in, and getting bad results. I am sick of feeling like crap. I’m sick of having no energy. I am finally ready to make exercise a constant in my life. It’s not even about winning this competition it’s about making sure I can chase my grand kids 15 years from now.
I have not been a good steward of the body God has given me, and I am ready to change that. To give myself some accountability, I have enlisted my husband as my personal trainer. He works out twice a day and tries to make healthy decisions, so I figured he would make a pretty good partner.
If you are looking to change your habits I highly recommend a partner, because it would have been so easy to stay in bed this morning; but he got me up and working out! My parents also walk together each day after work, and I think it’s not only a great way to hold each other accountable, its a great way to spend quality time together!
So, after all, the junk and laziness I have gained 2 pounds back, but they won’t be here for long.
