I had no idea when I requested to review Tandem I had no idea that it was a vampire book, I was thrilled!
I love a good vampire book, and couldn’t put this one down. Even with a migraine, I finished this book in 2 days.
While I understand that some may be offended by the vampires, I enjoyed the fact that these “sinners” could hope to be redeemed by dying to their flesh.
One point to be noted in the novel is the author’s ability to paint a vivid picture of her characters; both inside and out. Though I have never known anyone who suffered from Alzheimer’s, I came away feeling like I could now understand the way both sides would feel about such a painful and hopeless condition. Their relationship was both sad and beautiful.
The only aspect of the book that I think could have been better was the message. This book doesn’t hand the message to its reader on a silver platter. If you’re looking for a true redemption/inspiration story, I wouldn’t recommend this book. I am the type of reader that can pull a message from anything I read, but I had a much harder time doing that with this book.
With that said, if you are looking for page-turning suspense, where everyone is a suspect…this is your book!
I would highly recommend this to people who like suspense-filled “whodunnit” books!
– I received this book free of charge for the purpose of review, but all opinions are my own.
