As you have read in some of my previous posts about online bullying I have been a victim, and have watched my friends be victimized. Lately, I have been reading so many posts, and stories of online bullying, but what I haven’t done for myself is what needs to be done to replace this issue.
LIFT SOMEONE UP or #spreadthelove
These are just a few of the trending topics on Twitter today: #IWannaSlap, #ICantRespectYouIf, and #OnlyFatPeople – Seriously twitter? We can do better than that.
Today I plan to start spreading the love on twitter, facebook, maybe I’ll blog it, and I’ll do it in my home…but I am going to start lifting others up and encouraging them, instead of saying things that bring them down.
What this is NOT: A flattery contest, or chance to see who can use the hashtag the most
What it IS: A chance to look at the people around you, and see what they are doing that inspires you. Encouraging those around you isn’t just good for them, it’s good for you too! So take some time today while you’re doing all this “social networking” and #spreadthelove. Actually, take some time to read someone’s tweets or blog and find something you can say to them to brighten their day!
Can you find time in your day to encourage and praise three people around you? Putting a stop to online bullying starts with you… TODAY!
