Quick and Cheap DIY Valentine’s Day Centerpiece you can Make

As you know, it gets expensive to buy holiday decor for every holiday.  Of course, you can always wait until after the holiday and get it at a discount, but then you have to store it for a whole year before you can display it.  So much for that great deal, right?  This year I decided to make my own centerpiece using as little money as possible.  What do you think?

Quick Valentine Easy Craft

This craft was one of the quickest and easiest I have ever made!

What I used:

One branch from the yard

One Four inch Terra Cotta Pot $1.37

One 3.8 Inch FloraCraft Foam Ball (found in my craft room stash)

One pack of Red Valentine Burlap Harts $1.49 (50% off at Hobby Lobby)

String (also from my craft room stash)

Mod Podge (leftover from another craft)

Paintbrush

Cutter Bee Scissors

Easy DIY Valentine

  1.   I started by painting the Mod Podge on my clay pot.

2.  I placed one of the burlap hearts over the glue and painted more glue over the top of the heart.  I completely covered the burlap heart with Mod Podge so that it would be decoupaged on my pot.

3.   While that was drying, I placed the styrofoam ball in the pot.

4.   I pushed my tree branch down into the ball so that it would stand up.

5.   It is time to tie the strings to the burlap hearts.

6.   I then either tied the other end of the string to the tree or made a loop hang my ornament from the tree branches.

There you have it!  What did I tell you?  Easy, peasy.  I paid so little for the supplies that I won’t even feel guilty if I don’t hold on to it for another year so that I can put it out again next year!!

Quick Easy Valentine Centerpiece

To be honest, I probably spent as much time or more finding my branch in the yard than it took to finish the craft!!

Noteworthy:  This would be a fun craft to do with your child or grandchild.  It is quick, easy and would be done before you loose their attention.

I am anxious to hear what great money-saving crafts you came up with this year!
