~ We received a copy of Gardening Mama 2: Forest Friends for the purpose of this review. All opinions belong to us! 😉
I have been a long time fan of Cooking Mama, but have never played Gardening Mama, until just recently. I received a copy to review and was instantly hooked. I decided to let my 10 year old son try it out, and I couldn’t get it back.
Since my son liked the game so much, I decided to let him write this review. Here’s what my son John has to say about Gardening Mama 2 Forest Friends for the Nintendo 3DS.
I like adventure games like Pokemon because you can save your progress and you get to go on your own adventures and collect stuff. I like to play games where you can unlock stuff as you play and the quests get more challenging.
In Gardening Mama 2: Forest Friends there are lots of plants, vegetables, and fruits that you have to collect and give to Gardening Mama’s Forest Friends. At the end of the day when it’s time to go home you get shopping cash and lottery tickets for helping out the animals.
My favorite challenge in the game is where a girl asks you to mow her lawn and it reminds me of Temple Run, and you have to be quick and swipe the circle pad to follow the path before the lawn mower starts to spin out of control.
I really like doing the gardening in Gardening Mama 2 because it’s like Farmville, which is a game I really like. I like making sure my plants and trees get the food and water they need, and making sure they don’t wither by keeping the blobs and flies away from them.
When you garden a lot you get lots of garden points, and when you get enough points you can upgrade your garden. So far I have upgraded my garden like four times, and I only need 1,000 more points to upgrade it again. My garden is HUGE!
In Gardening Mama 2 you can also go to the shop and buy antiques to decorate your garden (like statues and benches) but my favorite things to shop for are pets. They have sea turtles, bears, chickens, and rabbits. I love animals so I always like games where you can buy pets.
So far I have helped a rabbit who has a flower shop, a penguin who has an ice cream shop, a bear with a restaurant, a cat with a salon, and a dog with a furniture store. It was a lot of fun helping the animals by giving them the things they needed to complete their jobs.
