Okay! This is it! The celebration of our Savior’s birth and the time we will gorge ourselves on cookies, cake, mac n cheese, dips and chips, haystacks, truffles, scones, ham… Ugh, gotta stop this list, I’m getting hungry.
What should we do?!!! Enjoy it! Have fun and eat what you want without feeling guilty! Take this next couple of days as a vacation from feeling like you have to watch the calories. That being said, though, I recommend the following:
1. Still workout!! I know, I know: Who has time and what in the world would I do? Working out doesn’t just burn calories, but it also gets those endorphins revving. Exercise is an instant anti-depressant and will help you to handle the stress of the holidays. If you can’t get to the gym, try some DVDs or check out sites like www.bodyrock.tv (though with caution as some of the images are not appropriate), www.zuzkalight.com, or just do a search on Pinterest for workouts. Many of these are quick, you can do them at home with little equipment and you can get the whole family involved and make it super fun.
2. Go ahead and set some goals. Want to be a certain size by summer? Set the date and the amount to lose. At least your head will be in the right frame of mind once the holidays are over.
3. Buy something or ask for something workout/diet related for Christmas. I usually get a Beachbody workout for Christmas and am so excited about it that I end up trying it Christmas Day. Try a detox for the New year and track your workouts and diet on Beachbody where you can be encouraged by others.
4. Most importantly, thank the Lord that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and that He has blessed you so much by providing for you!
