I have to say that I am just sick of the way our society presents “news.” Our news shows have built-in special features designed to figure out who all is to blame for something, then watch them like a hawk: wait for them to make a mistake; and then blab, blab, blab about how much worse they are than we first thought. I have seen so much of this I could puke.
Did you forget that these CEO’s are people too? Since when did they lose their right to be human? I understand that people are upset about the BP CEO saying that he wants his life back. It was a thoughtless comment when you consider the families of the 11 that lost their lives, but it was a TRUE comment. It sucks to be him right now, everyone hates him, and right now he hates his life. Can you honestly tell me you have never been this inconsiderate? Have you ever said, “I’m starving”? Guess what, at the very moment; you said that someone around the world was starving…to death. Fortunately for you, you don’t have a camera crew waiting for stupid comments to pop out of your mouth. How about these gems “I would rather die than,” I wouldn’t be caught dead,” “how many people did you have to kill to…”. Every day people say things that with a little more consideration would probably not come out of their mouths. He is HUMAN, can we remember that while we bash him daily in front of millions?
You know what I would like to see? I would love it if the reporters just put down the microphone and wash a pelican, or try to help with the clean-up efforts, instead of name calling and finger pointing.
When it comes to finger pointing, I think if we look at this a little closer I believe that we can see that we all have a hand in this! Didn’t anyone see the Saved By The Bell, oil episode?
Just a note: I care deeply about what is happening. The loss of life saddens me, the environmental and financial issues this is causing. I don’t excuse anyone for not doing the job they said they would do. I take it seriously, and wish I could turn on the news and see the “facts” instead of the slander!
