Father’s Day is always a challenge for me. I love my dad and my husband dearly and I want to make sure my gift is a symbol of that. I guess you could say one of my gifts is giving. I love to give. I enjoy it and spend lot’ of time considering just the right gifts. If I was rich my gifts would be MUCH better than what I actually end up giving. That’s not to say I don’t give nice gifts, they would just be a lot nice if I could give as much as I wanted to.
My gift ideas for Father’s Day this year have been big ticket items. I just don’t have many ideas. My husband really needs to get a new cell phone, because he cracked his iPhone in a bad way. I just hate giving a “needed” gifts. Although, I think those usually are the best kinds (for the person reviving it). Not that my dad or husband are every really in need, but you know what I mean.
I think my dad could seriously use a new grill. Getting him a grill would be nice for a few reasons. One, because he does need it. His grill is getting up there in age, and it’s something that we all enjoy when we visit. When you visit my dad chances are good he’ll grill out for you at least once, so in that way it’s kinda sentimental as well.
He currently has a pretty nice set-up with the grill built into a counter on the porch, so we only need to upgrade the grill itself. I have been doing some research and Weber gas grills seem to be a favorite, but I have also considered buying a dual gas and charcoal grill. That’s what I got my husband last year for Father’s Day, and he loves it.
I think I will go ahead and replace my husband’s iPhone, and maybe I’ll get him the heavy barbecue grill cover he’s been asking for.
What are your plans? Will you be purchasing a bigger gift for Father’s Day this year or do you stick with the neck ties, and wallets?
