Girls Bedroom Makeover

Sharing is caring!

It’s time to start thinking about our girl’s bedroom makeover. We are planning the details and setting the budget now! Now that we finished the boy’s bedroom makeover, it’s time to get moving again.

Here you can see Lexi’s current room. The paint is very light pink. This room is the exact opposite of the last room, huh?! It’s so soft you can hardly see it. The funny thing is, if you look into the closet, you can see the color we initially painted it. It was a Pepto pink :). Neither of these colors is the one I chose. John and I had some communication issues in Lowe’s that day because I handed him the color card, told him what color I wanted, and didn’t hear me choose the color he liked best (the color in the closet). After a few months of glowing pink walls, I couldn’t handle it anymore and asked him to repaint, which he did while out of town. I came home to the color I liked even less than the previous one.

So needless to say we have some serious work to do both in this room and o our communication skills ;).

After we change the color of the walls ( I think we will return them to white, as we did with the previous room), I want to figure out what kind of furniture I want. I already know I want to replace the hand-me-down bed and dresser. I would love to be able to replace them with this ADORABLE white girl’s bunk bed set. Is that not the most adorable and girly set ever! I love that. I always try to consider the future when purchasing furniture, and that is one of the reasons I want to get Alexis bunk beds because one day, we may be in a smaller house, and the girls may have to share a room.

I would also like to get her a dresser with a mirror, a small table and chairs, and a large white trunk to keep her toys in. I want to try to keep her room as simple as possible because her toys take up so much space. I may have to ditch the second dresser and just hang most of her clothes.

As far as the decor, I plan to get most of it from Hobby Lobby. Instead of keeping the boring Dora theme, we will move on to princesses, fairies, and butterflies. There will, however, still be PINK. Lots and lots of pink. It’s her favorite color, so I have to make sure she’s surrounded by it!

Do you have an adorable girl’s room makeover you would like to link up? I would love to see it.
