DIY Hanging Ghost Decoration

Sharing is caring!

I have been having so much fun crafting for Halloween that I decided to share this DIY Hanging Ghost Decoration with you. You will love this one! Who knew you could make such cute creations from trash bags?

DIY Hanging Ghost Decoration Tutorial:

DIY Hanging Ghost Decoration Supplies:

White Trash Bag
Black Trash Bag
4-inch Styrofoam ball
Scissors
Wooden Skewer
String
Button
Googly Eyes
Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue

How To Make A DIY Hanging Ghost Decoration:

Step 1: Punch a hole through your Styrofoam ball with the wooden skewer. You will thread your string for hanging this up through it. Trim one corner from the bottom of your white trash bag.

Step 2: Thread your string through the ball and the other bottom corner of the bag. (The corner that you didn’t trim off.) Use a button at the bottom of the ball to keep your string from coming through.

Step 3: Cut strips about 1.5-2 inches wide starting from the top of the bag heading toward the corner you have your styrofoam ball in. You will want to stop cutting about 4-5 inches below the ball so that you can cinch the bag under the ball. If you cut your strips at an angle, you will end up with a relatively large triangular-shaped piece for your last strip. Trim off the excess so that it is also a piece that matches the rest.

Step 4: Glue two small pieces of the black trash bag to the bag making his head and then stick the Googly Eyes to the small black pieces. Allow to dry completely. Then tie a couple of strips of the black trash bag around the ghost. Tie a smaller piece above the ball for decoration in his “hair”. Tie a larger piece under the ball for his necktie.

Well, what else can I say? This DIY Hanging Ghost Decoration is so easy to make; you will want to make more than one and hang them all around your yard and house. What easier and cheaper way can you think of to decorate for Halloween?

Happy Halloween!
