Disney Imagicademy is a new learning brand that was designed with children ages 3 to 8 in mind. The goal behind this app is to inspire a natural love of learning by encouraging kids to learn by creating, making, and doing. The idea is to create a hands-on experience where children have so much fun that they don’t realize they are learning. Which is a very successful method of teaching. When children spend time doing things they enjoy learning comes more naturally, and children will retain more information.
I have been on a tech kick lately. I have really enjoyed trying out new apps and the Disney Imagicademy Parents app is one of the coolest apps I’ve ever tested. Think Disney Pinterest for moms. Seriously, it’s that awesome. This app has awesome crafts you can do with your kids (my favorite is the birthplace key chain charms), ideas for planning fun activities (like scavenger hunts and squishy bags), and book lists. The quality of information for parents in this app is phenomenal. You can easily plan your weekends using the Disney Imagicademy Parents app.
This is what the parents app looks like. You can use the menu tab on the left side to navigate the app.
You can read articles from other parents, and check out cool activities for a rainy day (or icy day).
You can also track your child’s progress through this app. You have to connect each of your children’s accounts to your app and then you can view what they’ve been
learning I mean playing. 😉
Disney Imagicademy is the first comprehensive brand of interactive and connected early learning experiences that combines the Disney characters and stories families love, with a research-driven curriculum developed in conjunction with top academics and education experts. This program includes 30+ app based experiences and five of those are contained in the Mickey’s Magical Math World app.
The Mickey’s Magical Math World App contains the following in-app purchases:
Mickey’s Super Rocket Shapes
* Minnie’s Robot Count-Along
* Donald’s Number Launcher
* Daisy’s Bedtime Countdown
* Goofy’s Silly Sorting
You can now find another 5 apps in the Mickey’s Magical Arts World app that was released on February 12, 2015. My girls tested out the Mickey’s Magical Arts World app, and I was surprised by the various activities they could do in each section of the app. This app contains in-app purchases $4.99 each or $19.99 for the 5 pack) for these activity apps:
* Mickey’s Sketch Artist
* Donald’s Costume Play
* Mickey’s Music Maker
* Minnie’s Art-chitect
* Pluto’s Crafty Creator
You can purchase each app separately for $4.99 each or as a 5 app combo pack for $19.99. The music maker plays a wide variety of songs which was pleasantly surprising. I had fun trying to guess each song with the girls. Minnie’s Art-chitect app has 7 different style buildings that your child can customize and design. The app itself is free and you can play around with one tool in each app before paying for the app. I recommend letting your child try each section before making your purchases that way you know which apps they will play with.
You can get these Disney Imagicademy Apps for the iPhone and iPad (Mickey’s Magical Math World is currently only available on the iPad).
