Anna had a wonderful first birthday party! She actually shared this party with her Daddy, which I thought was super cute (mainly because I got to pick on him all day about pink cupcakes, balloons, and girlie decorations 🙂 ).
Her party theme was cupcakes, which I picked because I think they are adorable. I don’t know what it is about cupcakes and puppies that just make me giddy inside!
We got her birthday party decorations from Celebrate Express. The items came together in one box and were in mint condition. Every product from the invitations to the banner were high quality and exactly what I expected (well maybe a little better than I expected). I loved the entire set and everything matched perfectly. My only complaint was the party hats. They had to be assembled, which proved quite disastrous for me (I can’t even cut wrapping paper). I would have preferred that they come ready to wear, instead of ready to tear lol. Trust me if you are capable of inserting tab A into slot B and then attach a string you will probably be A OK, but if you are like me you may want to skip the hats, or find a friend with skillz.
Celebrate Express has so many themes to choose from, but what really grabbed my attention where the First Birthdaykits. I had never seen entire themes dedicated to the “1st Birthday” and I loved it. We really don’t do very big parties for the first birthday, but I see now who this party is really for… ME! Going all out, and decorating for your child’s first birthday is way more fun for the parent than it is for the baby!
So after throwing her a wild double B-Day party we let her open her awesome gifts (and by open I mean watch daddy take them out of the boxes because seriously… what is the point of wasting wrapping paper lol :).
Here’s what she got:
For her special day I thought it would be fun to get her all dressed up so I asked a fellow blogger and friend to teach me how to make a tutu and she did a great job! It matched her Just Jen personalized shirt beautifully!
I fell in love with this shirt as soon as I saw it, and knew once we picked her party theme that I had to get the matching cupcake shirt with her name on it! I was really impressed by the quality of the shirt and the way it looked after the first few washes. I will admit that I was afraid that the jewels would come loose and she would choke on one; but I am happy to report that those rhinestones aren’t going anywhere!
It has been a fun filled year, but I can honestly say I am glad to see it pass. The first year for me is always the hardest and I really enjoy the year between 1 and 2. So here’s to another great year, and milestones that we will never forget!
