Alligator Alley Summerdale, AL

Sharing is caring!

My kids were thrilled when I told them we would visit Alligator Alley. If you know me well, I have a soft spot for alligators.

My alligator obsession started when we moved to Florida about 3 years ago.

When we hit the Florida line, I started looking for alligators and haven’t stopped yet! I think my children now share my appreciation, and they had a fantastic time getting up close and personal with the gators at Alligator Alley!

Alligator Alley is located in Summerdale AL.

They have hundreds of alligators in the park, so plan to spend a few hours looking around. All of the alligators in the park have been rescued from dangerous places, so they haven’t been captured for entertainment purposes.

They are gators deemed “nuisance animals,” meaning they are dangerous because they have no fear of humans.

If you are looking for a great way to experience alligators with your family, Alligator Alley is the place to go.

Not only did the kids get to feed the gators, but they could also hold a 2-year-old.

My youngest son was the only one that decided against it (although he regretted it later).

Even my 2 ½ year old daughter held one, and I managed to snap a picture right before she dropped him on the ground. The staff members are super helpful and knowledgeable.

They are around to answer any questions you may have. The only part of the experience we missed was the live feeding.

I am going to try to take the kids back because I am sure that is one aspect of Alligator Alley that is not to be missed.

Another highlight of the visit was meeting the infamous Captain Crunch!

Weighing in at over 800 pounds, this 13 foot alligator is the biggest alligator we will probably ever see!
