We Got “Elfed”!

It’s that time of year again. Every year we wait patiently for our favorite elf Peyton. We never know how he will arrive, but we always know we must search for him on Thanksgiving morning. Peyton has been visiting our house for the past four years, and his magic never gets old!

Normally Peyton will hide in a closet, the pantry, or even a box of cereal, but this year Peyton outdid himself. We all know that elves love baking cookies and making toys, but we have never seen any of his creations before, and this year he not only shared some cookies with us but also wanted us to bake with him.

Last year we got a letter from Santa saying that after years of Peyton being with us, we could now touch him and let him play with us without losing his magic. He does, however, have to be back on the mantel for bedtime; of course, he’s never there when we wake up in the morning. This year I understood why Santa sent us that letter because Peyton came to our house with an apron and pocket for him to sit in while you bake. Putting him in the pocket would be hard if you can’t touch him!

Peyton chose a magnificent hiding spot this year, and I’m surprised the girls found him so quickly! He was hiding in the hamper! I only wish he had left a note encouraging the kids to do some laundry for me because that would have made me one happy mom.

Santa sent a few pictures of Peyton getting our basket together, and he even shared a photo of Peyton prepping our cookies! I’m glad Peyton used Betty Crocker Sugar Cookies to “Elf” us because those are some of our favorite cookies. We are planning a trip to Farm Fresh today to bake with Peyton and decorate our cookies. Our letter from Santa said that we should also #SpreadCheer to others in our neighborhood, so that’s what we plan to do, and we’d like to invite you to do it too!
