DIY Wood Box Makeover Tutorial:

When checking out the local thrift store, I found this wooden box. It was just begging to be brought up to date.

How To Complete Your DIY Wood Box Makeover:

Step 1: Paint the inside and outside of your box with the Americana Acrylic Black Plum Paint. Allow to dry completely.

Step 2: Paint the lid and the inside edges of the lid with the Americana Acrylic Peacock Teal Paint. Allow to dry completely.

Step 3: Lightly sand the edges of the lid. Sanding  allows the black to show through just a little.

Step 4: Measure the front of the box and trim your 1-12X12 sheet the Paper Studio Black & Cream Diamonds to fit the box. Decoupage the paper, to the front, back, and sides of the box using your DecoArt One Step Crackle in a thin coat. Allow to dry completely.

Step 5: Trim your 12×12 the Paper Studio Bicycle sheet to a size slightly smaller than your box lid.

Step 6: Decopauge the bicycle image onto your lid using your DecoArt One Step Crackle making sure you completely cover the top of the box behind and on top of the illustration with a thin coat. Allow to dry completely.

Step 7: Put a very small amount of your Americana Acrylic Burnt Umber paint on a plate and water it down. Spread it over your entire box so that your crackle will show better. I ended up using a sponge for this step so that I would get a VERY light coat for an aged effect.
