You know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but how often do you make breakfast for your children? Since our significant lifestyle change that started in January, I have been making breakfast for my kids for almost five months now. Before that, they would often come down and make themselves breakfast, and I have to say, while stressful at times, making breakfast for the kids has been a great experience.

Some meals are easier to make than others and with only 30 minutes to get the girls ready, and out the door, I have found that making breakfast the night before can be a lifesaver.

These chocolate strawberry doughnuts can be made ahead of time and served quickly before the kids walk out the door. I love making breakfast for my children, but sometimes it gets boring, which is why I like to mix it up every once in a while. While you may feel like making breakfast fun can be too much of a hassle, I encourage you to think small! The smallest things can make your kids shout with glee.

For me, that “small” thing was giving these doughnuts strawberry ears. I said they were bunny doughnuts, but my animal loving children quickly informed me that I had created cat doughnuts! After looking at them again, I guess they are right!
