I can’t believe that it has been a year since I had my Mommy Makeover. After a year of recovery, physical training and lots of dedication I can honestly say that I am happier with my body than I have ever been. I don’t attribute every bit of my satisfaction to the surgery itself because the surgery alone would not have given me the body I wanted. It was the first step. Having plastic surgery is a scary thing. Like any surgery you are scared because you face the possibility of death or complications; but when you are choosing to put yourself at risk it’s even scarier. I do not regret going under the knife because I was finally able to get the body I have always wanted. That’s not to say that I have reached all of my goals because I haven’t. I plan to continue training and hopefully compete one day, but until then I am very proud of all I’ve accomplished up to this point.
For those of you who don’t remember how it all began I’m going to share all of my pictures and will link to each post at the bottom of the page. As always if you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comment section or email me.
Here are my scar pics after 1 year. I can honestly say that while I am a little self-conscious about the scar it was worth it to me. My abs are no longer separated and they are strong and firm. The scar was a small price to pay.
As you can see the sides have faded considerably and the scar is much flatter. I have been massaging the scar to help flatten it and can’t wait to see what it looks like in six months.
I have regained all of the feeling in my breasts and am starting to regain the feeling on my tummy. It’s so weird when the feeling first starts to return. I have also noticed that the more the scar heals the more it itches. Other than that I have returned to serious strength training and have noticed no problems. The only issue I have had to deal with is caused by the breast implants. Because I had to get under the muscle implants I have to be very careful when doing chest exercises because my pectoral muscles actually cause the implants to move when flexed. My solution: No chest exercises. I’m completely ok with that.
If you live in NC and are considering plastic surgery I highly recommend Dr. Davis Plastic Surgery. They performed my surgery and they are amazing! I have been able to email them to ask questions and they are always helpful and supportive.
